An underground prison used by the Assad regime was discovered in western Syria.

Security forces discovered an underground prison in the Homs countryside in western Syria, which was used by the regime of former President Bashar al-Assad to detain civilians during the war years, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The prison was found north of the village of Buwaydah al-Salamiyah in the al-Mukhram area in the eastern Homs countryside, according to the agency.
