The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that the army thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs near the town of Al-Dabbousiya in western Homs countryside, on the border with Lebanon, following a clash with a group of smugglers.
The Ministry’s Media Directorate said on Friday that army units spotted the smugglers in the Al-Dabbousiya area and foiled the operation, confirming that no casualties were recorded among the forces during the clash, according to Television Syria.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the army continues pursuing smugglers in the border area, stressing that security operations will continue to intercept smuggling attempts and prevent criminal groups from crossing the Lebanese border.
